Contrary to popular belief you can lose weight without depriving yourself. The popular notion that you can only eat salads, low-fat foods and hit the treadmill for three hours a day in order to lose weight successsfully is a myth!
There is plenty of research supporting the belief that everyone has unique dietary requirements. Which means the closer you stick to what you genetically need to eat the more success you are likely to have in achieving your weight loss goals.
Follow my three simple tips to lose weight without depriving yourself:
1.Find out your unique dietary requirements
Research by William Wolcott and Dr John Briffa shows that your body has it's own unique rate at which it converts foods that you eat into energy. This means you may be eating foods that burn to quickly in your body which give you a post sugar rush energy slump.
When you have sugar rushes, from eating sugary snacks, your brain naturally orders insulin to be produced to counteract the high amount of sugar in your blood. However, it usually orders too much! Hence the energy slumps. What's important to know is that insulin is a fat-grabbing hormone meaning that anything you eat to help with your energy slump is likely to go straight onto your belly!
To avoid this, my tip is to find out what foods will help your body function at it's best.
2. Use the water formula
Drinking regular amounts of pure, non-tap water throughout the day will help your body to clear out toxins and will also give you plenty of energy. My top recommendation for water is Evian. Use this formula to find out what your minimum amount of water to drink per day is:
Your weight in Kilos x 0.033 = minimum amount in litres per day
3. Chew, Chew, Chew!
Chewing your food until it's a liquidy pulp in your mouth not only aids the digestion process (good digestive health is essential for a flat stomach!) but also gives you a sense of being satisfied sooner. Therefore, there's less chance of you over-eating.
