Personally, I like to train to help me perform better in my chosen sport. It's good to have specific goals to motivate you. Training for training's sake I find dull but everyone is different!
Do you like going to the gym? Perhaps you hate it. I know I find it boring at times.
Is hitting the treadmill for 45 minutes during your lunchtime the most effective use of your exercise time? If you want to lose weight quickly then the answer is no! Free weights is the answer.
How often do you exercise? Three times a week? You don't have time? See my exercise examples below!
All these questions are important as the answers help you find out why your excess weight isn't shifting.
Here are my top 5 exercises which I think are very effective in a short period of time:
- Squats
- Lunges
- Chest Press with dumbells on Swiss Ball
- Overhead Shoulder Press with Dumbbells
- Chin Ups
Perform these exercises at least three times a week. If you perform three sets per exercise the whole thing will probably take you less than 40 minutes to complete. You don't even have to be in a gym!
